It takes just two pages or what's the same one letter to fall in love with Rachel and her family and friends.
Loved this book from beginning to end and had a smile on my face all throughout my reading. Funny, entertaining and always, always heading towards the bright side of the road! “Letters to Rachel" is a book full of life, laughter but most of all love that keeps Rachel good company in her Spanish new life and adventure.
Loved this! A very different style of writing. As it says- in letters. Rachel moves to Barcelona and decides to give up emails and social media for a year and encourages her friends and family to do that old fashioned thing of putting pen to paper and write to her. Through this medium, the story is told of how her life and that of those around her develops over the next 12 months. The characters are wonderful, I would love to meet her mother!! A realistic story with real characters and emotions. My only criticism is that "bake off" is held on a Wednesday not a Tuesday so "mum's" letter is wrong!!(call me picky).
A feel good book that makes you believe in human goodness whatever the circumstances.

I wonder what was in the author's mind when writing this book - I'll never know, as I gave up 2/3 of the way through. Mail back and forth from loving Mum, best friend and Girl In Spain. Talk about boxes not arriving, worries about appearing in public in "the same 4 outfits", making curtains ... every move, event and thought set out in detail. Too much telling, not enough showing. The story could be about anyone living anywhere for a time. Cosy - but boring.
Wasn't sure what to expect from a male writer. Interesting concept with the letter writer aspect. I got very interested in the characters and their letters. Their letters explain the personality, and relationship with Rachel.

Enjoyed it and will keep an eye out for this author.
I really enjoyed this book. I've always liked a book written in epistolary format so this was great fun. Always feels like I'm raiding someone's secrets! 😉 Fun story that prompts thoughts of breaking out of old patterns and trying something new.

Each character was distinct and charming with their own tone of writing which is quite the feat to pull off. I read the whole book in under twenty-four hours. It was that fun! Definitely recommend this one for anyone looking to put a smile on their face.
